Straight Images - Rebecca's Art
This is one of my top images because I really like the simplistic nature of it. All of the colours within the image are quite neutral, sticking with white, grey and the blonde of Rebecca's hair. This absence of saturated colour gives the image a very calm and quiet effect, taking away any noise or complication reflecting the way people can immerse themselves in art.
In this image I wanted to focus on some of the important details of my sisters painting equipment. These paintbrushes and painting knives are the basis of creating what she does therefore are the essentials of this everyday activities. By focusing on them in this way shown above it shows the miniature details of them and makes them quite interesting to look at despite what they are.
This is my favorite image from the whole of the 'Rebecca's Art' shoot because of the set-up of the image. I decided to take the photo from an overhead perspective to show every element in proportion to what my sister see's when she is drawing. Not only does this show one of my sisters best pieces of art it has so much contrast to the blue and white blankets below giving the image an amazing appeal.
Seeing as the images were modeled around my little sister, I wanted to bring some of her personality into them which has been done above. Her fun and light-hearted nature is shown through her messing around with one of her pieces of art, a drawing of an old man. She held it up to her face giving it the effect of a mask. This displays her personality alongside one of her pieces of art.
This image I took of her using water colours to paint a flower that she had drawn. I like the perspective this was taken from as you can see most of Rebecca's face and her body language. The facial expression she possess shows a lot of concentration as she is careful to paint the right area in order not to ruin the painting. Her body language also shows a steady hand and concentration as she leans forward showing how stable and careful she is in her work. I think this really shows her talent in terms of art as she has a natural feel for it.
