I really like the context of this photograph. Three people eating together and socialising, which are common everyday activities. However, the photo is interesting as it's caught at the right moment, showing conversation focus on the man in the front but the camera focus on the two ladies intently listening.

This photo shows a couple in their everyday life which is slightly less glamorous than the one above. They are a common family which appear to be slightly dysfunctional. I really like this photo because it highlights how even documenting a simple moment can have lots of connotations and meaning.

Robert Doisneau is one of my favourite documentary photographers due to the cheerful nature of his images. The one above showing a lady engaging with the camera holding a keyboard on her back. The keyboard reminds the viewer of music which we usually associate with being happy, I like the way Robert tries to photograph the positive side of life.

This image really inspires me for my own work. This photograph is beautiful and shows the light, happiness of being young. I love the closeness through family or friends of this photo, something I would like to show when photographing my own family in their everyday activities.

The vibrant colours of Martin Parr's work really bring the images to life. Again I enjoy the cheerful nature of the photo which is trying to portray British life. The photo does this perfectly as it's a typically British scene, a sugared doughnut, which a toddler is holding and eating. This makes me think of the memories I have by the seaside.
This image could definitely reflect this man's everyday life as he appears to be in a fisherman's uniform laying on a large fish. I like this image as it is very interesting and slightly quirky but still ties into the everyday life aspect of the project.
This photo inspires me for my own work because it shows the happy side of family socialisation. I really like the lighting of this photo which is very soft and natural which gives it more of a feeling of a special moment captured within the family. I would like the achieve this type of image on my own work.
This photo is of everyday life in India, I really like the idea of contrasting how different cultures experience everyday life. I think one of my favourite aspects of this photo is the joy you can see on the people's faces from just being together and messing around. This definitely reminds me of the decisive moment by taking the image at the right time when everyone has a smile on their face.
Although this photo is slightly mundane I still find it interesting and a good image. It is a very symmetrical image where the two ladies who are perhaps related are mirroring one another. This is a good representation of everyday life as it shows a common activity but in an intriguing way that is aesthetically pleasing.
This photograph despite it being of a violent moment between sisters is slightly comical as it is something that most people can relate to if they have siblings. This photo can be relatable to some people and bring back memories with their siblings that they now laugh about, this is what I want to achieve, documenting memories of family that have meaning and may hold meaning for other people too.
This image takes a slightly different approach to everyday life photography as it doesn't focus on a person. Instead, the main focus is the road which people driving up and down it. This is interesting as it is an original perspective that gives a fresh, new view. I enjoy this photo because it is vibrant but has quite a quiet feeling to it.
This photo again is the everyday life of a different culture. This photo is of people living on the Amazon river, by the look of the photo, it is very different to what the British everyday life is, however it's very interesting as it shows a new way of living and broadens what we think of the outside world.
To me, this photo has lots of joy and wonder behind it because of the look of the little girls face in reaction to the bubbles. I really like the colours that t he bubbles bring to the image with the slight hint of purple around aspects of the background, this brings a slightly magical feel to the everyday life of a young child.

It is clear that this photograph was taken in a poor perhaps war-torn country due to the lack of familiarity of their home and the females clothes. Both people are intently watching the TV with sad expressions on their faces which could suggest they are awaiting news on the future of their country.

This image is a charity shop with people looking around it. I really like this image due to the complicated nature of all the objects, they are all mixed up and piled high. This adds a lot of depth and detail to the photo that takes a little time for the viewer to take in.

This photos urban street photography which we can tell from the graffiti on the wall (a common sight in the city) and what appears to be a train moving in the background. I enjoy this photo as despite it looking innocent at first glance the lady looks slightly frightened and very aware perhaps due to her settings.
Mary Ellen Mark - Family
The four photos above are by photographer Mary Ellen Mark and are from the series 'Family'. Each one shows a different scene from a household, some slightly comical and others caring and of a sad nature. This inspires me in my own work as I want to take photos of the everyday life of my family, this has helped me see how I can capture the different emotions a household can go through in just one day. The photos all hold a deeper meaning and are all capturing an actual moment these people are living, giving us a small insight into their personal life.

This image shows a very modern everyday life. It shows people commuting on an underground tube most of which are on their phones with their headphones in. Each person in the image above has their own thing going on, none of them are socialising or even appear to be looking at each other, which is increasingly the case in modern everyday life.
This photograph has a very sweet and innocent feel to it. The photo shows what appears to be two sisters laying next to each other, one asleep. This photo is a beautiful moment captured that shows the true closeness of family, especially sisters. Many people will be able to relate to this photo they to have shared a moment like this with their sibling.

This photo is very intriguing as at first glance the man in the image looks slightly intimidating due to his tattoos and appearance. However his body language and facial expression say otherwise, he looks relaxed in his surroundings and the same as anybody else. I really like this photo because it shows how people can be perceived as differently when in their everyday life.

I really like this photograph as there is so much detail in it and a story that the viewer can take from it. The old man surrounded by lots of old photographs perhaps of his family and friends throughout the years all next to him and clearly very cherished. The image to the left of the man appears to be him and his wife posing for a photograph when they were young. This photo shows the man's value on his family and how he cherishes the memories of them.
Vivian Maier

These photos above are by Vivian Maier. They are all everyday life documentary photography that focuses on the streets of New York. The photos show the interesting a fun side fo the streets and the lives of people who work or visit there. Most of the photos Vivian took was of children which bring a very joyful and playful feel to her work, Vivian was a nanny which may have influenced her focus. The happiness seen on many of the kid's faces makes a photo that makes the viewer smile and remember childhood memories. This is very powerful as the viewer can connect to the images.
I really like the meaning behind this image which highly reminds me of an old man who is proud and remembering the war he fought in. I think this because of the uniform the man is wearing and the setting he is in which looks like a celebration.

I like this image because it offers an interesting perspective that helps the photo focus on the baby at the bottom. The image represents family as it shows two small children and is a very cheerful image. I would like to show this kind of theme in my own work as it shows a happy household.
